Match report vs. Luxembourg, June 23
Something strange happened the other day - A victory for the MCC !!

Tournoi Rules
Rules - The games will be played under the normal rules of cricket except for the wide ball, no ball and LBW laws. - Each team shall consist of six (6) playing members. - Each game will consist of one innings per side. We expect each game to take approximately one hour. A coin toss will be used to decide which side bats or bowls first. - There will be five (5) overs per innings, each of which will consist of six (6) legally bowled balls. (or 5 eight ball overs in the event of a 5 team tournament) - One player will be designated as wicketkeeper for each game. The wicketkeeper cannot bowl. Each other player must bowl one and only one six-ball over. - An innings will conclude when either all the overs have been bowled or all six batsmen have been dismissed. - The “last man standing” rule applies. This means that at the fall of the fifth wicket, if more overs or balls remain, the batsman dismissed shall act as runner with the last batsman. If the runner is then dismissed in any way, such as run-out, this will count as the last batsman being out thus terminating the innings. - Each team has the option to retire active batsmen so that others can participate. As an unofficial rule, if a player scores over thirty (30) runs, he will retire himself to give other members of his team a chance to participate. A “retired” batsman may resume his innings only if all the other members of his side have been dismissed first and there are still overs or balls remaining. He would then be a second “last man standing”. - No Balls and Wide Balls shall incur a penalty of two (2) runs. Extra balls shall be awarded for either infringement. - A No Ball shall be called as per the usual rules of cricket as well as a short pitched ball above shoulder height or a full toss above waist high. - A Wide will be called under the criteria of ‘playableness’. To assist the umpire, lines shall be drawn – on the off side this will be a bat’s length from the middle stump and on the leg side a bat’s handles length from the leg stump. Hitting a wide ball disqualifies it from being a wide. - The LBW law will not be applied. The umpire shall not call a batsman out LBW. - Normal rules for byes and leg byes shall apply. - In case of injury a substitute fielder will be allowed. If the injured player did not bowl or complete his over, then the substitute will be allowed to either bowl or complete the over.
